TradingView platform

TradingView

פלטפורמות וכלים

Definition

A browser-based charting and technical analysis platform that can also be used for trading when connected to a broker. With prop firms, you connect your Tradovate account and send orders directly from the chart.

Detailed explanation

Connection: Log in to TradingView, click Trade, select the broker as instructed by the firm (Tradovate or NinjaTrader), and enter your account login details. According to Tradovate, for prop firm accounts, access to TradingView is managed by the firm, so if login fails, ask the firm to activate it. Even those who trade on a different platform use TradingView for analysis: drawing tools, indicators, and alerts. The chart you analyze and the account you trade with do not have to be in the same place.

An example from the prop world

In FTMO Futures, the same login details work for NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and TradingView, so you can analyze and trade from TradingView without an additional platform.

How it works at the firms on this site

Based on the rules listed on our firm pages. Rules get updated, so check the firm's page before buying.

Tradovate connection and platform

Broker and futures connection, with its own trading platform that also works in the browser and on mobile. Almost all prop firms on the site offer accounts on Tradovate, and you also connect to TradingView through it.

NinjaTrader platform

A trading and charting platform for futures, one of the most common among prop firm traders. The desktop version runs on Windows only and connects to the account via Rithmic or Tradovate, depending on what the firm provided.

Support and resistance

Price levels where the market has previously stopped or reversed. Support is a level below the price where buyers entered, and resistance is a level above it where sellers entered. A broken level tends to switch roles.

Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP)

The average price of the day, weighted by the volume traded at each price. It resets at the beginning of each session, and day traders use it as a fairness line: a price above it is considered strong, and a price below it is considered weak.

Rithmic connection

A connection provider through which the platform receives market data and sends orders to the account. The firm determines whether your account runs on Rithmic or Tradovate, and the connection determines which platforms can be used.
