Instant Funding / Direct Funding

Firm terms

Definition

A plan where you receive a funded account immediately upon purchase, without an evaluation. You skip the target phase, and in return, the rules in the account are usually stricter, especially the consistency rule and payout conditions.

Detailed explanation

The account itself is usually a simulation account, just like a funded account after an evaluation. The difference is that there's no opportunity to practice the rules in an evaluation: the first mistake happens in the account that pays out, and some plans do not offer resets. This plan is suitable for those who already know how to pass evaluations and want to save time, less so for those still learning the rules. Before purchasing, specifically check the consistency rule and payout targets, as most of the strictness is found there.

An example from the prop world

With Funded Futures Family, the S2F Accelerate plan is a $50K no-evaluation account: an intraday trailing drawdown of $2,000, no daily loss limit, up to 5 minis or 50 micros, and 25% consistency that resets after each approved payout.

How it works at the firms on this site

Based on the rules listed on our firm pages. Rules get updated, so check the firm's page before buying.

Evaluation

The first stage at a prop firm: a demo account where you need to reach a profit target without crossing the loss limits. Those who pass get a funded account.

Funded account

The account you get after passing the evaluation. At most firms it's still a simulated account, and its profits are paid out under the firm's payout rules.

Consistency rule

A restriction applied at prop firms (both in the evaluation phases and in funded accounts) to make sure the trader operates systematically and steadily rather than relying on luck or aggressive gambling. The rule usually requires that the best trading day's profit not exceed a set percentage of total profit (or sets limits on position size), ensuring the trading account is built on balanced performance over time and not on a one-time “big hit”.

Reset

An account reset is a manual action meant to return the trading account to its original starting state by restoring the balance and restarting progress.

Prop firm

A firm that sells traders an evaluation on a simulated account, and whoever passes it receives a funded account and a share of the profits they withdraw. In Israel, this is called a "prop account". The trader pays for the evaluation and does not deposit their own capital into the account.

Renewal

An action that happens automatically every month (or every 30 days), meant to extend the evaluation account's subscription and ensure continuous access so you can keep trading.
