Account limit

Max Accounts Limit

Firm terms

Definition

The maximum number of funded accounts allowed to be held at one time with the firm, sometimes per household and not just per trader. In evaluations, the limit is usually broader or non-existent.

Detailed explanation

The limit sets the ceiling for a strategy with multiple accounts: anyone planning to trade five accounts by copying needs to know in advance that the firm allows five funded accounts simultaneously. A household is defined by some firms based on shared address or IP, so family members living together are counted together. Before buying another evaluation, check what happens if it passes and you are already at the ceiling: with some firms, the new account is frozen until a spot becomes available.

An example from the prop world

At FundedNext, up to 5 active funded accounts are allowed per individual or household, and up to 10 new funded accounts per calendar month. A trader with 5 funded accounts who passes another evaluation receives a frozen account until one of the existing ones is burned or closed.

How it works at the firms on this site

Based on the rules listed on our firm pages. Rules get updated, so check the firm's page before buying.

Trade copying

Automatically duplicating every trade from a lead account to follower accounts, so you trade once across several accounts. It's done with software such as TradeSyncer or Replikanto, or with a copy tool built into the platform.

Funded account

The account you get after passing the evaluation. At most firms it's still a simulated account, and its profits are paid out under the firm's payout rules.

Live account

A stage where orders are sent to the exchange with the firm's real capital. Only some traders get there, and each firm has its own rules for moving up.

Inactivity rule

A rule that closes or blocks an account that has not been traded for a certain period. It applies in many firms to both evaluations and funded accounts, and usually one trade resets the count.

Renewal

An action that happens automatically every month (or every 30 days), meant to extend the evaluation account's subscription and ensure continuous access so you can keep trading.

Reset

An account reset is a manual action meant to return the trading account to its original starting state by restoring the balance and restarting progress.
